Hi, my name is Nicholas Sean Purnama but I prefer to be called Sean. I believe that life will only get harder and harder before anything good could come out of it and thus I greatly uphold the values of perseverance, faith, hard work, diligence, and loyalty. My current perception of life involves treating others the way I would like to be treated. Although I do not like to make enemies, I have come into terms with the fact friction will occur and I am prepared to face those who oppose me to defend my principles without compromise even in the face of death. From my perspective, entering UI may be complicated at first but the key is simple. It starts by doing your best and believing that all things flow under God’s providential control for the greater good. Some factors, in my opinion, one should prioritize to get accepted involves investing a reasonable amount of time in crafting a well-written university acceptance letter as it is the window of which the University sees and decides whether to accept your personality or not. First impressions do count and so doing one’s best also involves looking confident and honest during all the University interviews. Faith involves accepting that the outcome, whether acceptance or rejection, are one and the same in the grand scheme of things. Whether you enter UI or not, different problems will occur and new opportunities will continue to present itself because they are well-calculated and planned by a higher authority. Thus, although studying hard and being intelligent is an important factor in entering UI, getting accepted to UI should not be the ultimate reason to uphold good student characteristics. My tips on how to get accepted to UI is an example of practicing what you preach.
The closer it became to the announcement for FKUI’s acceptance the less anxious I became. While awaiting UI’s answer I consolidated with the facts that it would not matter whether I get accepted or not as my primary objective is to study medicine and I could always find another facility to accommodate that learning experience. I sincerely hope that I would be able to excel in FKUI and be of useful help to my peers and even for my family in the near future. I hope that the medical facilities in FKUI will continue to live up to its mission and vision in accordance to the international standards it wants to achieve. To sum it all up, I will quote from Jedi Master Yoda in saying “Do or do not, there is no try.”
